Update from Smokey’s pound pullers 22.03.2017……
Its with sadness in my heart that I have tonight got to bring you some sad news. Not the kind i was hoping for 🙁
As you know Smokey came into the pound and had a lump and was being taken to the vets just to have a look to see what they felt it might be. He did not seem to be in any pain or discomfort, so we were all hoping for the best.
The vet confirmed it was not just a fatty tissue and could well be something quite nasty, but the main other concern was that on examinati…on they also found a large internal mass in the stomach area. He was aged at about 11 or 12 yrs of age, his eyes and ears were not to good and the vet felt the kindest thing was to let him have eternal sleep 🙁
So after speaking to the authorities it was decided that it was best to let poor Smokey go to sleep, certainly not the outcome we had hoped for 🙁
Good night god bless you Smokey sweet dreams, sleep tight, we are so sorry we could not do more for you and give you the chance we so wanted to. R.I.P little man xxx <3
AW this handsome man is little Smokey, he is an older gentleman Terrier. He does have a lump on his underside and he will be off to the vets to get a check up. He really is a friendly boy, and although he is an older boy he still has a lot of life left in him. He also was not bothered by the other dogs at all as you will see from the short clip posted below.
Smokey is not chipped nor wearing any id
He can be vaccinated

If you are a rescue and you are able to offer a space should not be claimed, Then please contact Shelle Allders or a member of admin at Jacobs pound dogs uk direct via pm as we may miss your tag.
PLEASE NOTE DOGS WHO ARE NOT CLAIMED ARE UNABLE TO BE RE HOMED DIRECT FROM THE POUND. THEY NEED TO BE PLACED IN RESCUE CARE, WHERE THEY WILL BE FULLY ASSESSED ETC, BEFORE PLACING UP FOR ADOPTION
Needs donations for *: neutering / vaccinations / microchipping / transport / emergency boarding if needed
*on average, it costs £150-£200 to pay the rescue costs (neutering, vaccination, chipping, worming, flea treatment) for every dog rescued from the pound, and more if they need to be transported and moved into EB before they find a rescue space. Please note that funds alone do not guarantee a dog’s safety, as there are many other factors to take into account such as availability of emergency boarding, rescue kennels, transport and rescue space. They do, however, provide a huge help to the dogs and their helpers in paying for their vital and expensive rescue costs.
