Pound Helpers: Hound from the Pound
Date Posted: 6th January 2018
PTS / Overdue Date: saved
Status: SAFE BUT NEEDS FUNDS
Information from pound pullers:
We have been asked to help this young lurcher girl, out of county but who has two broken legs, one being an open wound. We will be working with Fall in Love with a Rescue who with their vets so brilliantly saved the leg of another young lurcher (Luke) last year. It is intended that we organise transport for this young girl called Misty to the fabulous Henley Vets used by Fall in Love with a Rescue who will take her forward in her post op recovery and eventual rehome.
It is expected total cost for op might be as high as 4K but we will keep you all posted. The alternative for this dog on Monday is PTS. We are aiming for full recovery but will know more after she has been xrayed and to save costs this is being done once she arrives at Henley.
I hate to ask so soon into the New Year for donations for this babe but every penny counts. I’m anticipating driving up to take a dog from Manchester tomorrow to her safe foster in South Scotland and then return collecting this girl Monday morning to meet with the Fall in Love with a Rescue team coming up from Henley.
Please share and lets help this babe have a good future ahead of her. The paypal is either: firstname.lastname@example.org in the name of MISTY or direct to the vets in her name from Monday. EVERY PENNY COUNTS! Thank you
*on average, it costs £150-£200 to pay the rescue costs (neutering, vaccination, chipping, worming, flea treatment) for every dog rescued from the pound, and more if they need to be transported and moved into EB before they find a rescue space. Please note that funds alone do not guarantee a dog’s safety, as there are many other factors to take into account such as availability of emergency boarding, rescue kennels, transport and rescue space. They do, however, provide a huge help to the dogs and their helpers in paying for their vital and expensive rescue costs.
